A proud Buffalo native and member of a rowing family, Crotty graduated from Canisius High School and SUNY Buffalo. He started rowing at Canisius and at the West Side Rowing Club, stroking several of West Side’s successful lightweight eights in the late 1980’s. After careers in live music performance and finance on the floor of the NYSE, Brendan became a special education teacher in Northern Virginia in 2002.
It was Virginia’s tightly knit rowing community that drew him back to rowing, this time as the men’s varsity coach of West Potomac High School. In his first year as a coach, he successfully trained West Potomac’s Junior 4+ to silver at the 2003 Stotesbury Cup and gold at the 2003 SRA’s in Camden, NJ. He continued his leadership of this same crew with silver at the 2004 SRA’s in Orlando, Florida.
Brendan joined WinTech Racing as Mid-Atlantic sales representative in 2004. He quickly established himself as an extraordinary salesman because of his dedication to exceptional customer service – a paramount tenet of the WinTech mission. His outstanding performance led to Brendan’s promotion to National Sales Director in 2008 and ultimately to President in January, 2011.
