Sweep or Sculling
The simulator is able to be rowed in either a sweep oar or sculling configuration, and is easily changed from one to the other by interchanging oar handles and oar pivot positions. Rigging span and inboard oar length measurements are standard. which allows the rower to achieve the same reach and finish angles as they would in a boat.

Adjustable Footstretcher
The footstretcher system is adjustable to fit each rower and the heel height can be raised or lowered to allow for comfort and correct "through the work" position. All these adjustments are quick and easy to make.
Adjustable Resistance
The simulators flywheel and housing are integral in giving the Oartec a realistic feel and smooth stroke. The air resistance is variable and controlled by moving the vent lever position to the desired setting within easy reach of the rower. It is recommended the resistance be set between 5 and 10 for sweep and 1 and 5 for sculling depending on the strength of the rower and intensity of the workout.
Workout Monitor
The Oartec workout monitor has been designed for rowers. It has many standard functions such as time, distance (meters, kms, miles), speed (in time per 500m, m/s, kms, miles), power (in watts) and strokes per minute. The monitor also optionally displays data such as average speed, average power and stroke count as well as technical data such as stroke length, drive ratio, average strokes per minute, heart rate and drag.
Folding and Storage
Storage is a breeze. The Oartec folds inward to stand upright and occupy minimal storage space when not in use. Wheels mounted on the frame make it easy to move a machine, even through doorways. Both folding and unfolding take less than 30 seconds.
